Accommodation Guide

The Isle of Wight has a wide range of accommodation to suit all budgets and preferences. The island's long history as a holiday destination means the hospitality sector is well developed.
Hotels range from large resort-style properties to small boutique establishments. The larger hotels are concentrated in the seaside towns of Sandown, Shanklin, Ventnor and Ryde. Boutique hotels and characterful inns are found in Cowes, Yarmouth, Ventnor and rural locations.
Bed and breakfasts remain popular, with family-run B&Bs in most towns and villages. Quality varies but is generally good, with many achieving high ratings on review sites. Guest houses offer a similar experience, often with more rooms and additional facilities.
Self-catering cottages are the most popular accommodation type, ranging from simple apartments to luxury barn conversions with hot tubs and sea views. Holiday letting agencies and platforms like Airbnb offer hundreds of properties across the island. Booking well in advance is essential for summer and school holidays.
Holiday parks are concentrated in the Sandown and Shanklin area, offering caravans, lodges and camping pitches with on-site entertainment and swimming pools. Brands include Warner, Haven and several independent parks.
Camping and glamping sites are found across the island, from basic tent pitches in farmers' fields to luxury bell tents and shepherds' huts. Several sites have sea views. The Vintage Vacations Airstream site near Sandown is a notable quirky option.
