Ventnor Botanic Garden
Garden
Ventnor Botanic Garden occupies the site of the former Royal National Hospital for Diseases of the Chest, exploiting the sheltered south-facing microclimate to grow plants from the Mediterranean, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Japan outdoors. Palms, agaves, echiums and tree ferns thrive in terraced gardens cascading down the hillside above Ventnor. The garden is free to enter and includes a cafe, gift shop and plant sales area. It is one of the most unusual and rewarding gardens in southern England.
